Colorado Springs Ranked #1 Among Large Cities on First-time Homebuyer Survey
Colorado Springs was ranked as the number one city with a population of over 300,000 in a survey released Monday by WalletHub, a consumer finance website. Overall, Colorado Springs ranked 15th on the list, which ranked 300 US cities. In compiling the survey, WalletHub looked at 18 different factors that help make a community attractive to first-time buyers, including property taxes, median household income and home prices. The survey also weighed quality-of-life factors such as crime rate, recreational opportunities, weather and local job market. Colorado Springs fared well in the survey primarily because the city hasn't experienced spikes in home values like other large cities.
