N. Academy Walmart Evacuated for 2nd Time in 11 Days

The Walmart Supercenter near N. Academy Blvd. And Voyager Parkway was evacuated early Tuesday morning, marking the second time in less than 2 weeks that carbon monoxide levels forced action at the store. Officials with Colorado Springs Utilities responded to the store, located at 8250 Razorback Rd., at 1:30 AM Tuesday. A total of 45 people were evacuated after the officials found low levels of carbon monoxide throughout the store. A similar evacuation was conducted at the same store on June 5th after firefighters measured low carbon monoxide levels. An official said that the levels measured in both instances were not life threatening, but were sufficient to make people sick.
